Create a customizable drop down list for favorite projects (per user).
We have hundreds of projects in dozens of project groups in Octopus. As a DevOps engineer I have occasion to work with many projects over the whole system.
The filter by project and project groups are helpful. But what would really be helpful is the ability to go into a project - hit a * to make it a favorite, then on the dashboard tab have a drop down list of all my favorites that would take me directly to those projects.

Create RPM packages for Calamari
For Tentacle deployment targets on Linux, you make RPMs clearly available: https://octopus.com/docs/infrastructure/deployment-targets/linux/tentacle
However, for SSH deployment targets on Linux, there is no RPM (or apt, etc...) for the Calamai package. Most Linux admins (rightfully) like to manage deployment targets with Puppet profiles, or similar, and the idea of manually installing Calamari directly on the servers creates configuration drift, and goes against most devops principles.
Could you make binary packages available for Calamari like you do for Tentacle?

BUG: Resizing web browser deletes unsaved form data
When filling in a form in Octopus Deploy, for example to add a deployment step or to add new variables, if you resize the window all unsaved data is lost.
Whie I acknowledge this is unlikely to affect many people, I've hit this a few times when taking some screenshots for documentation purposes. It's fairly annoying.
I think it happens when the page switched from one responsive layout to another. For example, when the project sub-menu hops from the left side of the screen to the top of the screen.

Project Group as collapsible panel (like Expand/Collapse)
Can we add collapsible panel (like Expand/Collapse) to Project Group. Most of the time I have to scroll down to search my projects, so it would be easy if we add expand collapse section.

Ability to set application URLs for each environment, allowing linking from dashboard
It would be great if the Octopus dashboard, which displays the current releases of each application in each environment, contained links to the applications in the specific environments. E.g. if the box displaying details of the most recent deployment of Application X to Environment Y also contained a link to that app in that environment
We presently maintain this info outside of Octopus, in Wiki pages etc, but it’s a pain to maintain.
It would be great if this was directly available in Octopus, because the matrix of applications to environments is already there. Forcing users to access the links…5 votes -
Allow a "not" mode for filters
We have a dev cluster set up and working with octopus.
One of the hurdles to creating ephemeral/adhoc debug/testing environments at the moment is the fact that we have to go in and manually map those environments in lots of different places.
Ideally, we'd be able to create a resource (e.g. a kubernetes cluster, certificate, etc), that lets us specify that it is a valid resource for ALL environments EXCEPT production.

Connect project to many tenants at once
There is currently no way to associate a project to multiple tenants without going into each tenant one by one, finding the project, selecting an environment, and clicking Save. For installations with many (tens or more) tenants, this is quite inconvenient, and has resulted in hacky workarounds from third-parties.

Add more regional support to Octopus Cloud
Octopus Cloud is presently limited to three Azure regions (West US 2, West Europe, Australia East).
Strict data sovereignty rules for some customers may mean that Octopus Cloud is currently not a viable solution.It would be good if more regions were supported by Octopus Cloud - specifically UK West and/or UK South.
Also - how does Octopus handle high availability and fault tolerance if limited to only one region?

Include description field for project and library set variables similar to project template variables
It would be helpful to have a description field for variables in a project or in library set variables. I know the idea of having 'descriptive variables' usually solves this issue but sometimes across teams it doesn't always happen.
To save screen space it could be a descriptor you enter when making the variable then when you mouse over the variable it shows the information descriptor.

Process Editor with parent/child steps to frustrating.
When I have a few Parent processes with some Child process in them, The Process Editor is very hard to use. You get that dreaded "Menu Options unavailable while viewing a parent or its child steps." Comment box appear. The problem is that there is no other way to do Parent tasks like add a child step now that you have a "parent or its child steps" selected. Only when you click into another Parent step can you access the Parent process menu. This is hugely frustrating when you are working of creating a bunch of child steps.

Support the creation of custom permissions
Octopus has the ability to create custom roles, but not to introduce new permissions. We would like to be able to add new custom permissions and then have both a REST api and script access that lets us test if a role has that permission. This would let us extend the Teams / Users / User Roles model to cover finer grained decisions more gracefully than a proliferation of user roles.

Allow downloading and restoring configuration from audit history
Currently the audit API can only return an HTML annotated view of the changes made to configuration elements like variable sets and deployment process. This is not helpful when the configuration is huge or when we need to find changes over multiple edits of the same configuration.
Proposal: add the ability to download the raw JSON that was in effect after the change. The result should be equivalent to what we would get by clicking 'Download as JSON' after making the changes.
This would allow us to:

Consider turning Octopus into a complete CI\CD Solution
all-in-one tool combining source control (or VCS integration), artifact storage, package feeds, build & deploy pipelines.
I love Octopus and have used it for years now. The flexibility you offer with your product in the deployment arena is awesome. Simple things I take for granted are not offered or a pain in other solutions such as Azure Devops.

Support toast messages
It would be useful to notify either all users, a team, an individual of some changes (step template to be deprecated, upgrade occuring) via a toast/message on login so that important messages related to Octopus/deployments are delivered via Octopus directly to the users that need to know.

Improved Overall Project Search capabilities
Need to improve the search capabilities to include variables and/or allow the entry of associated metadata such as "Host/DNS name" so that projects can be quickly located using this search/filter.

Go to cloned project after cloning
After completing and saving the clone project dialog, the page reloads and your are back on the project that you just cloned from.
To be consistent with other software I regularly use, I expect to be navigated to the project that I just created from the clone command. At the very least, I would like some sort of obvious UI with a link telling me to go to the cloned project.
On multiple occasions, I have cloned a project and went straight into deleting custom steps and variables that aren't needed in the new project. However, I eventually find out…

Show release notes in overview
Could you please consider showing the release notes as a hint box when user would hover the release number in the Project/Deployments/Overview view?
Currently the release number is "clickable", so we can reach the release (and its notes) quickly, anyway there is no hint used, so it would be more comfortable just to point the cursor and read the notes.

Separate permissions in the User Role "Project Contributor"
Currently, in order to allow developers to access and edit variables, they are also able to edit process steps including disabling them. This means that they are able to disable audit steps before deploying.
If process edit was a separate permission we could split out the ability to edit variables and the ability to edit/change process steps
