Quick search for Releases no longer available in Octopus v4.0+
Current configuration (v4.0+) uses dropdown control for Releases list.
Previous implementation had combo box control and it allowed to do a quick search for large releases lists.
Would love to have this feature back since currently it is not possible to do a 'contains' search among differently named releases.
This feature is still in Octopus in 4.1.4 we have made a bit easier to find: https://github.com/OctopusDeploy/Issues/issues/4080
I think, that's great!
Thanks for fixing it quickly. This fix helps a lot!
We are not in a position to make significant changes to our autocomplete component right now but we've added a hint and also made it size dynamic so you can see the whole release numbers. What do you think? https://github.com/OctopusDeploy/Issues/issues/4080
Thanks for providing this information. It partially helps.
You are right - current quick filter is not as obvious as it was)
In our configuration, we use long release titles due to integration needs, so we face situation when filtering by last symbols in release title are hidden by the dropdown borders. See screenshot below:
Having similar combinations of characters in release titles results to us in trying to guess what release is needed.
Is this something you can fix in future?
Thanks for getting in touch! I don't think we've removed this feature but it looks like it is not as obvious as it used to be. You should be able to search by partial release number on the overview page. Is that a fair description of the problem?
If so, how would you improve it?
Here is a screenshot of the filter to make sure we are talking about the same thing. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qBw7B0mHyJMkYe-WsCsu2GXeYz35i0PS/view?usp=sharing
